Tomas Alejo

A selection of photographs in recognition of National Native American Heritage Month.

Tomas Alejo (Chicano/Huasteca) is a Photographer and Clinical Social Worker. Tomas was born and raised in Watsonville, CA and members of his family, including himself as a child, were active organizers with the United Farm Workers union. He blends life experience, participation, and a background in social justice and activism, so his photographic images relate an intimate story to the viewer. He is also an accomplished tattoo artist. Tomas’ work highlights indigenous cultures, ceremony, and resistance.

This exhibition is made possible with the generous support of The Massasoit Foundation and Academic & Student Affairs, and is sponsored by the Native American Awareness Collaborative at Massasoit Community College (NAAC) consisting of Community Education, Film Society, Student Life, Library, administrators, faculty, and staff.
